Hence my suggestion to use wordpress or a similar content management system. ;)

Feature requests / Re: Mobile version
« on: August 28, 2009, 03:36:35 PM »
A mobile version needs a new set of templates, since the current templates are AJAX based. Every function would rely on 2 or 3 separate pages for the mobile version. So a lot of pages need to be created, most of them form-based.

Do we have anyone in the community who has done something like that before?

Nederlands / Gecombineerde vertaling
« on: August 28, 2009, 01:34:12 PM »

You're always free to change it, right? Maybe the community and Feng Office could brainstorm on a new name (maybe in the chatroom?). After that you can have a transitional period in which the product is presented as "Formerly known as OpenGoo."

Cabeza: Thanks! Where do you suggest that forum should be, since the current ideas/suggestions forum is more aimed at OpenGoo itself.

Ignacio: Thank you as well!
I agree with the screenshots being more presentational. For WordPress sites you have this plugin (mootools javascript), which would be a nice solution. But as far as I could see the site was custom built, so we'll need to modify it or find a similar script. That way we could add buttons and promotional texts over the screenshots, making more use of the space we have. (And give Feng Office a more prominent position on a later tab.)

By the way: wouldn't it be easier to move to a CMS to manage the site? Makes it easier to update as well.

Older versions / [1.5.2] Email not appearing in inbox + user update bug
« on: August 28, 2009, 12:16:01 AM »
I'm able to retrieve mail from the server (at least, that's what the notification sais), but they don't show up in the inbox of the mail-application.

I've checked the e-mail tab with seperate and all projects selected at the left side, but no luck so far. Did I forgot to configure something?

Dor the record, the mail-account is being checked from multiple computers with keeping the messages on the server, so I know which mails I should get. Oh, and the email uses the POP-protocol.

Edit: Sent mail isn't stored either.
Edit 2: Enabled debugging, see output of encountered bugs so far.

I modified the current lay-out the frontpage in a mockup, here's the link:

On the current site the focus is on the SaaS-stuff and although I understand that the core devs like to make some money with this project (and I don't blame them for that), the focus should be on the product itself, hence I put a screenshot on the position.

I changed the menu by putting the "join the community"-button at the end and keep the focus on the product itself. Because of the darker colour of that button it'll draw attention anyway.

At the bottom I deliberately made the left column with the explanation of what OpenGoo is and it's features dark, so the eye gets drawn to it. (The text is mixed of existing text and wikipedia stuff by the way.) Next to that is the area for news and announcements in a lighter shade of grey and the right column is dedicated to the premium services by Feng Office and a download button.
Because of the gradient caused by the box backgrounds it should get attention as well.

Again, this is a mock-up, to give a general idea. I haven't worked on much details. ;)

Development / Administration Panel
« on: August 27, 2009, 02:22:46 AM »
Is there an overview of all functionality in the Administration link in the top right corner?

I have the idea it's structure could be much more intuitive. If someone can give me an overview of everything underneath it I'll be happy to design a better overview.

When you're logged in, go to "Administration" in the upper right corner.

Configuration > Default user preferences > General

The third option is "Localization", where you can change the language.

Is it possible to include this extension into the core by default?

Hi all,

I'm Tjeerd van Sas and together with a friend I have a small design agency. Since we live in different locations in the Netherlands we use an online office to manage our company. Some hours ago I installed OpenGoo and I like it so far!

In the spirit of projects like these I just made a contribution to the project by updating the Dutch language file (for those interested in it, you can find it in the Dutch subforum).

  • Ontbrekende vertaling in lang.js toegevoegd
