I have 2.2.3.1 and tried to upgrade to 2.2.4.1 and 2.3 beta.
But I get the same error in the upgradescript: "Failed to execute DB schema transformations. MySQL said: Duplicate column name 'hash'".

You may try with the 2.3RC, which is better than the 2.3 Beta.
On the other hand, if you search within the code you can look for "hash" column and see what is going on and where it is failing and MIGHT run some of the SQL statements yourself
