Cannot send emails

When I try to send emails, I get Error:

Connection to the given MTA failed. The Connection Interface said: Connection timed out

I can send emails using evolution, configuration is fine, it's a cpanel server running exim. What can I check? I have full access to the server if needed.

Seems like it could be a server setting.. or even the email server blocking yours.
Have you made sure it is not this? Have you thoroughly looked into your error logs?
