Installation problems / error sending mail with attachment from computer

When I try to add an attachment to an e-mail I get this error:
Error: You must choose at least one workspace where to put the object.
The user has all the right permissions to the workspace (mail as well as files, all read & write).
I'm on 1.7.2. Where to look for a solution? It happens with all the workspaces.
