: Repeating events, Holiday style
: robbrandt June 26, 2009, 01:54:48 AM
I am using a new installation of 1.4.2, downloaded today.

Glad to see support for repeating events, especially the "holiday" style repeat.

I have such an event to set up.  It's a repeating board meeting that happens on the last tuesday of every month.  It appears OpenGoo is intended to support this.  I select that type and check the optional box, but the repeating events don't show up in subsequent months.  In fact, even when i don't check the optional box it doesn't show up in subsequent months.

I checked the database and for this event the repeat_h colum is populated, with a 1 when the option isn't checked and a 2 when the option is checked.  So the data is being saved, but not used.

I haven't seen this bug addressed in the 1.5 changelog, has it been noted?

This bug is in our list, but not yet for v 1.5.

Hi,

The repeat holiday mode for events has been modified for version 1.6.
Now you will be able to add a repeating event in the <1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th> <Sun, Mon, ...,Sat> every X months.

regards

Great news.

Here's a tough test for it.  My grandmother gets together with her siblings on every "5th Sunday".  Which, of course, doesn't happen every month.  Can it handle that?

No, only 1st to 4th, for now.
If you select to repeat holiday and pick a date that is a 5th Sunday, opengoo will assume that the event repeats the 4th Sunday.

Like I said, it's a tough test, many calendars can't deal with it.  Should be good for most other cases.
