We have released an upgrade patch that fixes some issues when upgrading to 1.5 RC from version 1.4.2. Just extract the zip file into your OpenGoo installation after extracting version 1.5 RC.

Announcements / OpenGoo 1.5 beta 3 released!

Warning: OpenGoo 1.5 BETA 3 is not suitable for production environments. Download.

Lots of bugs have been fixed for this release and a few features have been added.

What has been improved:

• Drag and drop now doesn’t require that you select rows before dragging, and an icon was added to make it easier to know where to drag a row.
  
• Added permissions to access the time module
  
• Added a checkbox next to milestone and workspace selection in tasks, to apply the selection to all subtasks
  
• Fixed delete from server after X days (only delete fetched emails older than x days)
  
• Fixed error when downloading revisions
  
• Contact’s workspaces were not being shown
  
• Dashboard - view as list was not listing documents
  
• Fixed errors when using PDO Backend
  
• Event email reminders were not being sent
  
• Events that end at or after midnight were not being drawn correctly (week and day view)
  
• Problems with group permissions (workspaces didn’t load and object listings didn’t list files in group workspaces)
  
• Reports weren’t being sorted correctly and only printed first page
  
• Plus more bugfixes

Announcements / OpenGoo 1.5 beta 2 released!

This release corrects some serious bugs in 1.5 beta:

• checking email on a newly created installation would delete your emails from the server.
  
• sending email on newly created installations was not possible.
  
• error when executing the "Total task time" report.
  

Please upgrade to beta 2 before continuing with your testing.

This is the first beta release towards version 1.5 final. The most important changes for this version are:

How to help translate OpenGoo

OpenGoo, as you know, is open source software and is the product of the joint effort of all members in the community. People from all over the world are constantly helping in many aspects to improve OpenGoo, and in return the community receives a better product, at no cost and free to use. One of those aspects is translations, which allows OpenGoo to reach a wider audience. For this we need your help

If you are using OpenGoo and there's no translation for your native language you can make OpenGoo accessible to many more people by translating it into your language. First you should try to get in contact with other users that speak your language, because maybe someone has already started working on translations, or you may find someone else willing to help you and save you some work. You can do this on the forum dedicated to your language in the OpenGoo forums. If there isn't already a forum for your language you can request one to be created in the Other languages forum.

In every language's forum there will be a post entitled Official translation to <language>. This post is where official translation files will be put for download by users. If you make a new translation for a language or update an existing translation you should upload it to that thread. The OpenGoo team will be in charge of maintaining the latest translation files in the first post of that thread.

To make all this process more efficient there will be one responsible user for each language. This official translator will have to validate changes made to the translation files before they make it into an OpenGoo release, and will coordinate translation efforts among users willing to help. The official translator of each language will be specified in the "official translation" thread mentioned before. If there isn't an official translator for your language you can apply to be one by writing a post in the "official translation" thread for your language saying that you wish to be the official translator. If there aren't any other applicants after 7 days you will be selected the official translator. If there is more than one applicant a poll will be held on your language's forum. Before applying keep in mind that being the official translator will require some attention from you, especially near release dates. You can quit being the official translator at any time though, no hard feelings .

We now have an OpenGoo IRC Chat Room (thanks Travis!) which you can use to chat in real time with other OpenGoo users.

The chat room is hosted on the WildIRC IRC Network (www.wildirc.net).

You may connect using any chat client such as mIRC, X-Chat, Pidgin, etc.

To connect to WildIRC use: irc.wildirc.net
Then join the channel: #OpenGoo

Alternatively you can use the Java applet at http://opengoochat.wildirc.net
Once connected you can change your nick by typing: /nick yournewnick

This release consists of fixes to several bugs reported on version 1.4. Upgrading is recommended and is risk free as no database changes are performed.

You can upgrade through your OpenGoo's upgrade section or by downloading OpenGoo 1.4.1 and following instructions on the readme file.
