Hi, this is what I did.

Back up the files and database
Change debug=true in /config/config.php
Change version to 1.6.2 in /config/installed_version.php
go to /public/upgrade

Then I got this message:

Warning: require_once(/home/hdtbnet1/public_html/iee/environment/functions/general.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/hdtbnet1/public_html/iee/public/upgrade/include.php  on line 30

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/hdtbnet1/public_html/iee/environment/functions/general.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/hdtbnet1/public_html/iee/public/upgrade/include.php on line 30

My log.php information is too large to public here, but you can check it going to:

Thanks a lot, you are a live saver.

The first install was 1.6-beta, then I upgrade to 1.6.2 via automatic upgrade.

Feature requests / User permitions for templates.
« on: June 30, 2010, 07:46:09 pm »
Hi, I have this really big problem with templates.

When I create one, everyone can see and use it. Really big problem if you don't want your clients to know your workflow.

Well. The idea is that when creating a template you could select the users that can use that template. So in task view, when select "all" FO shows only the templates you have permission to use.

Same idea. If it works for you. Perfect.

Just one comment.

Most clients don't like the idea of you having information about they projects that you don't share with them. So, if you give them access to a "Client only" workspace, they maybe can have the idea you are hiding something they should know.

So, to avoid this problem, I give them access to the main "Company" and "Project" workspaces. This way, they think you are sharing with them all the information and feel better with you because "you share everything". They never find out that there is a "Private workspace".

And, when you have "Private" workspaces, everything in this sub-workspace will have  "Private"  in front (because of the name of the sub-workspace) and you and your staff have the alert that "this is private" and you never put it in the wrong workspace by mistake. Also, if you use one color for all your "private" workspaces,  green for example, will be really easy to identify what is private.

Just ideas for the people trying to set up his way to work.

The main idea is:

keep it simple.
Keep it fast.
If works for you, is the right way to do it.

I hope it helps someone.

Daniel.

Community Contributions / Re: Show workspace name in calendar tasks
« on: June 30, 2010, 07:20:11 pm »
Hi, nice contribution.

I have the same problem. As a work around I have to put the name of the workspace in front of the task.

I think the idea of having the workspace name in the calendar will be really useful. But if you do that the name will be too large. For example, I have some workspaces with 4 or 5 subworkspaces

all/workspace/sub/sub/sub/sub and many have really large names, with 10 to 15 characters. So, If the name of the workspace is in the calendar, I won't be able to see the name of the task.

I think that maybe, the name of the workspace can be shown with the name of the task, assignee and description when you place the cursor (mouse) over the task name.

What do you think about it ?

Bye.

HI my friend. I really don't understand why you need to change the code. I do it all the time but with FO as is.

When I want to my staff auto assign a task for themselves I use: "don't assign" or I assign it to a company.

Then, my staff knows that if a task has no assignee or the assignee is a company they can assign it to themselves.

Maybe it can help you.

Other thing. I always use end date in task so my people use the calendar as a list of things to do.

Another idea that can help you is use "Client companies" as departments. Example:

Your company is the owner company.

And you have this client companies:

My Company - Marketing
My Company - HHRR
My Company - Sales
My Company - Whatever you need

Or just:

Marketing
HHRR
Sales
Whatever you need.

So, if you want that someone in the Marketing deparment sees the task when he sees his calendar, you assign the task to  " My Company - Marketing", this way he can see it and he can assign it to himself by editing the task.

I hope it helps you.

Keep it simple.

Bye.

How To's / Private templates
« on: June 22, 2010, 09:09:14 pm »
Hi, I have a problem with templates.

All my clients can see them!!!!!!!

I use a lot of templates, almost for everything, including internal staff that my clients shouldn't see.

How can I make my templates private and avoid my clients to see them?

Thanks a lot.
