Feature requests / Re: Minor (but important) suggestions for next release
« on: January 09, 2009, 12:23:05 pm »
1. Proper tab order when inputing data.

I use Firefox as my primary browser... and noticed this as well. IE seems to tab ok when inputting contacts (haven't really checked other items), so I keep a tab open also logged in using the Firefox IE Tab addon specifically for when I need to enter a contact.

But yea, would be nice to not have to do that since I also work a lot with a Linux box and don't have the IE Tab option there.

Feature requests / Re: Some Calendar Items

Also, how about when viewing an event I initially said I could not attend, have it do a strike-thru of the event name or something, to give me a visual clue when looking at my overall calendar?

Feature requests / Some Calendar Items

From playing around a bit, if I set up a weekly meeting using the repeating event options, and invite folks to it.. if they decline one meeting, (or say yes), it sets that for all the repeating events.

This should be able to be done on an individual event regardless of the repeating settings... for example a weekly office meeting, I may be able to make them all but one week cause I'm on vacation.

Also. how about having an option to "Invite Attendees" on the menu on the right when viewing an event details page?

Feature requests / clickable email links
« on: January 07, 2009, 04:13:45 pm »
What file controls the output of the contact list view? How hard would it be to make the email addresses a clickable mailto: link? Would save time having to open the contact, then click the link :>

Ok, not much, but then I have to close it to get back to the list to maybe click someone else.

Feature requests / Re: Completed Tasks in the calendar

most stuff I've used, like on my palm for example, have a simple toggle for displaying or not displaying completed item... would be nice to implement it that way, maybe with user option for default setting?

Is there any plan to allow calendar entries and tasks to be placed in more than one workspace like you can with documents, notes and contacts?

The line from the 1.0 empty config file has..

  define('PRODUCT_VERSION', '1.0');

That variable is not in the empty config file for 1.1

I don't know if I needed to keep it or if it's no longer used, but I changed it to 1.1 in my existing config file.

General Discussion / Re: OpenGoo vs. ProjectPier / activeCollab
« on: December 31, 2008, 05:57:28 pm »
I can sort of answer this... as before I found OpenGoo I was (trying) to use Project Pier for a client collaboration setting....

OG has a much better interface.. bar none.

PP had a basis of projects, inside those projects you could have notes (with replies), tasks, milestones, and files. You could also cross link any of these items, like tie a task to a milestone or a note to a file.

They share the ability to assign tasks, notify participants, etc.

The areas OG is moving well beyond PP:
Workspaces, projects whatever you want to call them, the ability to have nested projects/workspaces is huge.

Having contacts is great... a calendar... and granting access to workspaces on an individual basis is very easy to do. And of course the ability to not just post files, but actually create/edit... this will really set OG apart as it continues to improve.

One thing I like in PP that is not available in OG is the ability to mark items as "private", which allowed only owner company members to see items in a project, but not the client members. You can sort of work around this (and I do) by having two separate workspaces. One shared with the client, another not.

I will admit, we never got fully implemented with PP as a tool for our clients, but after just a couple hours of playing around with OG, I knew I wanted to replace PP with it.

Feature requests / Re: pop-out notes

If you do that, it may be an easy step from there to allowing links to notes from documents... sort of like being able to write a note in the margin...?

Feature requests / Re: Visibility of workspace description

Just wanted to take a moment to echo Karl...

while this is an early stage package, and there's a number of things that it can't do that I would need for a 100% migration (mostly my internal needs)... the stuff it does do, it handles much better than the previous stuff I've tried, and it's enough to get me to migrate to using this for a client collaboration setting.

Ideas / Re: For Admins of opengoo!!!!
« on: December 29, 2008, 06:43:26 pm »
while I don't mind the name, another reason to change just occurred to me...

the "Goo" part may make folks associate this with something from Google... or that you are intentionally trying to make that association.

How To's / Re: Changing the position off the workspace name in top
« on: December 22, 2008, 01:00:19 pm »
Maybe a way around this is for OpenGoo admin to have the option to include a link to a "userdefined.css" file that could be used to make changes such as this, which wouldn't get overwritten when upgrading.
