Does it take you to the overview page when you click the Submit button?

Yes it does, and I gave up trying to find the reason by myself.
Any idea on how to fix it?

Thanks,

I have it (sort of) working, finally.
Got the SQL script running without any error.
Got the selection page to display in my custom (Gantt) tab with the list of workspaces

... but then it goes all wrong:
rather than showing the Gantt chart, it takes me to the overview tab  ???

Anyone seen/solved this?

Cheers,
Wz

Feature requests / Re: ConradO, give us tasks dependency, please!
« on: March 04, 2010, 02:03:24 am »
Would it help to work bottom-up?

I mean, thinking that a task is dependent from [another task/milestone] rather than a task has dependencies.

I agree that working with a one-to-one system would be easier, afterall, there is always ONE task that dictates the completion of a set. The report is what comes to mind.

What comes to mind is the "simple" structure applied to the workspace(s): you create one and you set from which it "depends". Am I oversimplifying it?

Agree, let's brainstorm

In view of the great progres made by Allenlook, would it be ssoooo difficult to add task dependency to the database ???

While the Feng Office team is welcome to any and all of this work, I do not imagine it is of a quality that they would want to support in its current state.

IMHO the least FO can do is provide you with dependencies. Hello ... ConradO?!

As for the quality, well do not underestimate what you have done 8), remarkable at the least. And isn't that what commercial team should do? Polish the community work, I mean.

I'm speechless...
This is just brilliant work so I can only say THANK you for sharing.

like them or not, without Gannt charts it becomes very difficult (if not impossible) to present summarize a project schedule.

We'll also be working on PHP pages that can be embedded on a tab, and which allow for filtering by workspace, milestone, tasks, owner, date ranges, etc.

I just came across this plugin for project.net. http://sourceforge.net/projects/dotmods/files/Interactive%20Gantt/
It is an interactive gantt  8). Do you guys think it could be tweaked to work in fengoffice?

Cheers

But it is flash, and there is a huge base of flash developers we can leverage.
I'll check on this .................

Have you played with Open Flash Chart 2 at all?
I believe it is used in fengoffice already, right?

Anyhow, it seems you are waaay ahead of what I can do, so hat off!

Ideas / Re: Day Planning
« on: February 15, 2010, 10:38:09 pm »
Drag items to build the day planner.... what a GREAT idea!

How could that be implemented.... an additional pane between the tab views and the workspaces, perhaps?
Yeah, so the user can navigate through workspaces and tabs, dragging tasks and docs into the day planner ....... hhm, I can see myself using that!!

But, wait, what do I do then? ... yeah, I can send the list to my phone/PDA.
Now, that would be (double) GREAT!

Just thinking loud...

I'm actually very surprised that Conrado is engaging in this post with enough passion to let us hope good things to come.
Thank you.

IMHO we (the community) can't change direction, just add to its core. That's why i believe it is called a developer's community. The strategy is well defined:
    *  Manage your projects and business services
    * Collaborate with your team and your customers
    * Organize and share documents and files

So to leverage the contribution of the community, the main feature is a workframe that allow easy alteration and additions, I'm talking about adding modules, making themes, making plugins and connectors to other OS applications, creating views and interact with the data .
And yes eye-candies.

At which point we should be able to contribute with features that are much needed to us but, seemingly strange, unwanted by others. In my case those are:
* Manage your projects and business services
   More flexible reporting
Customizable charts including Gantt chart (yes, i know....)
   Integration with OpenBravo

* Collaborate with your team and your customers
   Chat module
   Rules for e-mails

* Organize and share documents and files
   CAD viewer
   3D viewer

I'm engaged in a start-up, so money is tight, but if we make it, I would think twice before spending the money in FO without the features I mentioned above.
