Feng Office 2 / Re: Error in 1.7.5 to 2.0 upgrade
« on: April 02, 2012, 09:32:32 am »
I have not given the upgrade another try after looking into the code. There is absolutely no error checking, and when looking back at my 1.7.5 installation's provided sql scheme, there is no plugins table. So when this upgrade script runs, it does not check for a plugins table, it assumes there is one, breaks the script, then says it completed successfully. Does the rest of the application have no error checking as well??

franponce87, I did that, however all of my tasks, notes, and documents were gone. I had a backup so I'm running on 1.7.5 until this is all sorted out.

I tried this all again but manually created the og_plugins table according to the sql included in the install script. I ran the upgrade and again and got this:

Failed to execute DB schema transformations. MySQL said: Table 'elemntd_office.fo_members' doesn't exist

I have a standard install of 1.7.5 with no modifications, you guys really need to work on this upgrade script.

Feng Office has been upgraded. You are now running Feng Office 2.0.0.8 Enjoy!

Everything to that point seemed to work, however when I logged in, all of my companies were there but all tasks, notes, documents were deleted. Rolling back.......

Feng Office 2 / Re: Please bring back colours for workspaces!
« on: March 05, 2012, 06:58:27 pm »
conrado,

You guys should look into using transparent images over a colored background for those color icons. That gives us an unlimited amount of color options, and should save you guys some time creating each individual color icon, along with defining each position in the large 16x16 sprite image.

General Discussion / Re: Quiet in here...

The developers are really hands off when it comes to the community, they are in active beta without a single update in months.

Have you tried it on other browsers? Do they work?

I'm glad we're on the same page! And I'm looking forward to seeing Feng Office on github or something similar once you release the new version.

@skyer2000:
There still are lots of changes going on, so it would be rather pointless, and either way, we honestly do not count with the time for this at the moment.

I do not agree with that statement. We developers understand that by contributing code to a project there is the chance it will not be accepted (but we do it anyways, even if it's just for our own purposes). For you it's a complete win-win because you then run into the chance that a community developer comes up with better ideas than your team, that you can then just merge into the next version.

There would be much more activity if Feng Office were to get a Github account for all coding. It's not that difficult to setup at all and will really bring together the community allowing us to post changes and updates (which you can merge), instead of just having us email code changes.

Development / Need more focus on external stylesheets
« on: August 09, 2011, 11:46:50 am »
It looks like Feng 2 is going to offer more options for configuration and plugin development. While you guys are working on this new version I believe there is one extremely important area you need to focus on, which is making everything run through external stylesheets.

There are inline styles sprinkled all over the application, with some views being much worse than others. I recently went in to modify some report views and found them to be controlled almost 100% by inline styles, attached to EVERY single element in the view.

When it comes to developing version 2, I hope you take the time to go through remove any instance of an inline style, and control the entire look of the application through external stylesheets.

I'm having the same issue that started with 1.7.4.

Using Win7 + Chrome

How To's / Re: Hundreds of "ghost" uploads
« on: October 11, 2010, 10:42:31 pm »
The Trash is empty. Unfortunately it seems that checks were not in place to prevent these ghost files from being deleted when it timed out (it deleted the database entries, but not the actual files).

If anything, deleting the actual file should be done first, and once a successful deletion is confirmed, delete the database entry. Confirm both has happened, then move to the next item for deletion.

Any chance of a solution in the mean time?

Any ideas?

Could a function be included with Feng Office that can go through the uploads folder and look for those files that are not attached to anything?

Thanks!
