File archive feature for a clearer workspace
« on: November 17, 2008, 07:46:19 am »
I've taken a look at the forums and haven't seen this explicitly written down, please excuse me if it is here already, I'm new to the forums here :)

Basically I would really love an archive feature. I have some workgroups with sub-workgroups and after a while it can get a bit overwhelming if I want to view files for all of them. It would be great to de-clutter if I could select files and "archive them", which could work like in Gmail, you have to select an option to see all files (which would include archived ones as well).

Right now all I can do is give files the "Active" tag and when I'm done give them the "Archive" tag and always view my active files. Another workaround would be if you would have checkboxes next to tags, so you could view all files except ones in the "archive" tag for example. this way I wouldn't have to add "active" to all files.

Thanks for your awesome application by the way, beats anything I've tried so far :)

Hi Daniel,

We noted the need for this feature as well. This feature is planned for version 1.2 (late january).

Thank you very much for your comments! :)

I've been waiting for this feature. We really need a feature like this that's why we haven't put OpenGoo into work yet. Looking forward to this feature.

As you can see this feature didn't made it to 1.2, but we do miss it. Another similar feature is to archive whole workspaces, so that they are hidden from the workspace panel. And another somehow related feature that we miss is to show in bold text new elements in workspaces, that are mark as read when you view them or when you manually mark them as read, and workspaces with new items would also be marked in bold with a number in parenthesis next to the name saying how many new items there are.
