: MySQL database connection

Everything I have done is fine up to Step 3 where I get the error

Failed to connect to database with data you provided: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

the username and password that i provided is correct and I have created the database in phpmyql and have given permission in public/intall/installation/templates/sql so I have no idea what to do next, can someone please help?

Nevermind I found out what I was doing wrong thanks for all you hard work!!
