: Auto Upgrade: Feng Office 1.6.2 reports "No new version available"
: msauter July 04, 2010, 04:08:14 AM
I tried to upgrade my Feng Office 1.6.2 installation to 1.7.0 using the "Upgrade" feature in the administration section, but it tells me that there is no new version available. Why?

The URL might  be wrong ...

There is no possibility to enter an URL in the upgrade module of the administration interface. So how can it be wrong?

Hi Martin,
it could be due to custom modifications, incomplete code replacements while upgrading or other similar reasons.

What "$feed_url"  do you see in line 32 of VersionsFeed.class.php in application/models/version_feeds?

It's "http://www.fengoffice.com/versions.xml"

So that's correct.
Can you access that URL from the server?
Can your server access it?
It might be a firewall  issue ..

The update process for this particular Feng Office installation worked fine for quite some time, so it's very unlikely that this is a firewall problem.

I wrote a little test script with a fopen command, and it seems that my server is able to connect to http://www.fengoffice.com/versions.xml

Any other ideas?

What's the value of upgrade_last_check_datetime in config_options table?
: Re: Auto Upgrade: Feng Office 1.6.2 reports "No new version available"

upgrade_last_check_datetime = 2010-07-10 15:21:47
upgrade_last_check_new_version = 0
upgrade_check_enabled = 1

I'm running out of ideas.

Any error(s) on the apache logs?

I was going to suggest  replacing the code for that of a fresh 1.6.2 , but it might be easier to replace it for a 1.7 and attempt the upgrade. Whichever you choose, backup files and DB first.

I was using 1.6.1.

In the upgrade tool it offered to upgrade to 1.6.2.  I did that successfully.

But now it says "There are no new versions of Feng Office available for download'.

I enabled my cron reports to be emailed to me.   This is a portion of my cron activity:

2010-09-08 06:21:39 - Checking for upgrades...
2010-09-08 06:21:40 - No new versions.

Why am I not picking up version 1.7?

Thanks for reporting that Betty, we will look into it.

PS: the 1.7.1 version is coming out soon, and it has a lots of bugs fixed and new features

I tried reproducing that, but the 1.7 upgrade does appear. Are you completely sure you moved to the 1.6.2 and not the 1.7?
If your version indeed is the 1.6.2, I would suggest upgrading it manually..

Hi,

i just ran into the same problem, trying to upgrade from 1.7 to 1.7.1

my last (and only) upgrade worked fine, like the other user reported before. so maybe, it's always the 2nd upgrade? ;)

Hello Robert, I am afraid to inform there has been a mistake with some files, so a new version with some fixes is coming out ASAP, however this problem has nothing to do with what you and betty mention. For the time being try upgrading it manually while we check what could have gone wrong
Greetings!
