How To's / Cannot send E-mail

Hi,
I have the following problem;
When I test in the administration panel to send an e-mail, the e-mail is sent and the recipient recieves the e-mail. When I send directly from my personal mail, which uses excactly the same definitions as the automatic e-mail in the administration panel, I cannot send it since it goes to the outbox and stays there.
FYI - i receive all the e-mails in the inbox perfectly.
Hope someone can help me.
