How To's / Re: Event Reminders
« on: November 03, 2009, 10:59:27 pm »
I'm getting the same problem sort of. As far as I know, things used to work fine. Not sure if this is an issue with 1.5.3. Not sure when it stopped working.

Reminders/crons don't work, and when I add a new task and check the option to send email notification, nothing happens.

I've used the test email tool and that works and sends email fine.

I'm using php mail settings, not an smtp server.

Ya I've noticed that iCal feed refresh issue as well, not just with OpenGoo but with all my external feeds. I never did any research into it, as I just assumed it was a Google issue not updating right away.

In my experience, it usually takes a few hours to update. Never days, or an extended amount of hours like discussed in that Google thread.

How To's / Calendar Export Of Tasks
« on: September 21, 2009, 12:12:49 am »
I take the iCal feed from OpenGoo and put it into my Google Calendar. I notice though, that tasks/milestones aren't exported, only events. Is this not possible? I'd like to see when I have things due and what not.

Thanks for your help. I've got to the bottom of the problem. I followed your instructions and noticed Google Cal wasn't even accessing the server as no log file was generated.

It was because the URL was a subdomain. I had a hunch last night before bed it might be something to do with that, and sure enough when I changed the URL around so instead of opengoo.domain.com it was domain.com/opengoo/ in the Google Cal URL field, things work perfect and the calendar is exported properly. I can still use the subdomain when working with OpenGoo, I just had to type it in different in the Google Calendar field.

Not sure if this is something to do with Google not allowing subdomains, or something with OpenGoo, but just a heads up to the people who might run into this problem.

Okay the upgrade to the newest OpenGoo seems to now produce a .ics file, rather than a .php file for the calendar unlike before.

The problem is I'm now also getting the same issue with the poster above.

I go to insert the URL of my calendar into Google Calendar and after clicking submit, a few seconds goes by and then I get the error on Google Cal that says "Error: Could not fetch URL".

I'm not running OG on an intranet or anything, just a normal accessible server from anywhere in the world.

How can I debug this further to find the problem?

I noticed when I download the file, firefox says "you have chosen to download cal.ics" and then underneath it, it says it is a php script. I wonder even though the file extension is .ics, the mime type isn't and is causing issues?

Click on the calendar tab on any, or all projects, then in the right hand corner of the screen in the title area, you'll see a checkbox with "sub ws". Click the icon and you should get a popup with the URL.

I was just under the impression Google Calendar needs an .ics format file, and OpenGoo outputs a .php file with the calendar data.

Thanks for the reply.

Not sure I follow how getting it into IE7 did anything.

Here is the URL that is being produced when you visit the opengoo calendar and click the link to copy and paste the URL. (domain and info removed with generic stuff)

http://domain/index.php?c=feed&a=ical_export&n=John Smith&cal=0&t=0e1794ee069409f314b17f1986240ab8fbadcca3&isw=1

When you click on that link, it produces a download dialogue for a .php file. I tested in IE8 as well, but the same thing. Opening the php file does contain the calendar information with dates/summaries/events etc, but when I paste this URL into Google Calendar, nothing shows up. I was also under the impression it needed to be an .ics file.

How To's / iCal URL For Calendar Giving .php File Download?
« on: June 12, 2009, 02:09:25 pm »
I set the option to display rss/ical links, so I can grab the link for the calendar and set it up into Google Calendar.

I did this, however none of my events are shown in Google Calendar. I clicked the link that OpenGoo provided, and it takes you to a download .php file. Shouldn't this file be a .ics file or is this normal?

I'm looking for a way to get my OpenGoo events into Google Calendar. I wanted to use the URL so it's always up to date and I don't have to export all the time. How do I get it into Google Calendar?

How To's / Re: Permissions, Settings & Viewable Information

Just upgraded to the final version and works okay on mine.

Logged in as regular client account, viewed tasks, selected the drop down menu for filter tasks assigned to, and could only see client company. No other users were shown.

It was fixed in RC1. I haven't tested final yet, been busy with the holidays, but I know for sure it is there in RC1. I just tested again logged in as client, and can't see other companies than own.

Hopefully code didn't revert back.

Perfect, thanks for the response.

Personally how I would be using the product is for managing my projects with clients. I run a design company (web, print, identity etc) and would be using this product to manage their projects and keep them up to date on progress while making communication easier and better organized.

The reason I wouldn't need a personal workspace is that client users won't need their own workspace. The only ones they would need are for the projects I setup and assign them to. Not a huge deal at all, but I'd have to explain to each of them to just ignore it.

The biggest deal breaker is your answer to question 2) in regards to all clients being able to view all users on the system. I understand they won't have the power to edit, or view much information on them, but still being able to see user's names and companies might be worrisome to them. I also wouldn't want them knowing all this information myself.

So a big +1 on restricting who users can see. I'll have to mull this over, but I really love what you have so far. By far the best free project management software out there bar none.

How To's / Permissions, Settings & Viewable Information

New to OpenGoo and have a few questions after some initial testing.

1) With a regular user account, if a user edits their account preferences for tasks to display "Tasks assigned to me is the default view:" as no, I'm finding when they view the tasks tab, it still defaults to their own tasks first, and they have to filter manually.

2) If I setup a client company and add users to this company, they are still able to view all users in the system in the tasks tab beside the filter for 'assigned to' drop down for example. There are other areas where this is visible as well. Is there any way to set this up so users can only view other users in their own company, and the owner company?

3) Anyway to remove the personal workspace that is created for each user? Assuming no, but thought I'd ask anyway.

4) As an administrator, I make sure all workspaces/user permissions are set to 'none' and untick the option for 'read/write for email access, but yet the user can still view the email tab and seems to be able to edit settings. The only way I found a workaround was to manually remove the email tab from the template. Is that the best option? I won't be using email at all.

5) I read the other topic about file upload errors and can say I ran into the same problem. I don't have php in safe mode, but I do have open_basedir restriction in effect. The only workaround I had was to disable it in the directory which OpenGoo resides in. I've talked to some other people and they have the same issue, so I feel this is a flaw with how it handles it. File uploads should still work with openbasedir_restriction in effect. Just a heads up.
