Well, yes it was a provocative subject, and yes it was intentional. But I would like to move the mud over this topic a bit.

On my first attempt of getting some sort of Gantt viewer, I used the isGantt (with approval from the original developer) but the forum won't let me attach a screenshot.

Now I'm trying to build the XML file from the database using PHP but I'm not a programmer, so for me is a huge challenge.

Is anyone interested in joining forces?

I fully agree, a Gantt viewer is WAY more important than spreadsheets, and even text editor, IMHO.

I can see the need of the e-mail client, though.
Specially when you engage third party companies such as provider/partners to share the workspace(s).

Just my 2cents

BTW, I really believe fengoffice is THE best collaboration app PERIOD

My 0.2 cent...
By far this is the most complete WEB collaboration tool I have tested so far, and by far.
Personally I would rather have the collaboration features strenghtened rather than adding more office tools.

What I mean is that there are other office-like web app and other that can be used as such: just consider the beautiful eyeOS for example.

So I vote to get OpenGoo better at what is already good at: collaboration.

First let me endorse the request for a gantt chart.
OpenGoo is a brilliant project, but no app can be a true project management without at least a timeline.

I have found this http://www.simile-widgets.org/timeline/ .
And I believe it could be a starting point for a more interactive Gantt chart.

Anyone?

PS:
The beauty of this timeline is that has no limit, so you can pan it undefinetly.
