Blank page + fatal error after install

Just installed, got only the empty page... Checked all posts here, could not find a working solution.

The error is:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 1156892 is not allowed to access /var/tmp/ owned by uid 0 in /mnt/web7/32/75/51717075/htdocs/KlarTale/environment/environment.php on line 35

Fatal error: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: Failed to initialize storage module: files (path: ) in /mnt/web7/32/75/51717075/htdocs/KlarTale/environment/environment.php on line 35

You are getting an error on a PHP function called session_start due to permissions restrictions. I think it is not related to OpenGoo. Have you been able to successfully install some other PHP app that uses sessions in that server before?

It is a big German hosting company (Strato), never had problems with their hosting... They even support InnoDB...

But not sure about the PHP app that uses sessions. Could you recommend any, so I can try it?

Just installed the forum, it works fine...
Hosting support has no idea what is wrong, according to them, server supports PHP sessions.

Any other ideas? Maybe something with .htaccess ?

...its a SAFE_MODE problem at strato. To fix it add      safe_mode = off      to the php.ini

For tmp  folder give permission 777 and if you have system Open Goo in subfolder on server in home folder you must add folder tmp too with 777 permisiion.
