How to reset admin password without reinstalling

Recently I forgot my own administrator password, and needed it to be reset. Fortunately the system was fresh new, so I had nothing to loose and just reinstalled opengoo with new database.
But how can it be done without reinstalling?

i have a similar problem. I installed the opengoo very quickly. but as i wanted to login as admin the installation failed. What to do? At "Forgot password" the mail adress was accepted but the mail doesn't came to my mailer.

No, password manager is not a solution.
Mail sending would work, if I had installed local mail server, but it's not really logical to install it only to remind my password to myself!
Could anyone just give password hashing algorithm to overload it manually in DB?

i would really need that too.. not to reset the password but to use opengoo authentication in a sub\side application as a microblogging tool.

This a very old post. But I think it is good to document a solution.

It's OpenSource  
The encryption and decryption algorithms are in the file:
"feng_community/application/Functions.php"

However. If you have other users on Feng and you have access to the database, it is easier to modify the table "og_users".
Here you can assign administrator permissions to another user.
  Set the field "type" = admin
  and all the fields "can-*" = 1 on the selected user' row.

Then you log in as that user and make any necessary changes.
