Customized visibility of modules per workspace
« on: September 01, 2009, 08:42:29 pm »
First of all, thanks to this wonderful open source application... I was very impressed by the interface, available functionalities, user friendliness, performance, error handling, forum, etc., of this app.. :)

This should be in my top 3 list of the most innovative/best online applications (Google and Facebook are the other two).

My question is - is there a simple way to hide/disable some modules for each workspace? For example, I have the following workspaces:
  • Knowledge Base
  • Project XXX
  • User Accounts
    • Admin
    • User xyz
    • User abc

And I want to enable only the "Documents" and "Notes" module for the Knowledge Base; enable all modules except for E-mail for Project XXX; and disable all modules for User Accounts. Note that User Accounts is the parent workspace of Admin, User xyz and User abc. Lastly, I want to enable all modules for Admin, User xyz and User abc.

Did you intend for workspaces to be used this way?

By the way I will be studying your code/platform, and I could possibly suggest or contribute some additional features.

Thanks a lot.

I second this!
Would be very helpfull to have the possibility to hide modules/tabs per workspace or even user.

Thanks.

i have the same problem.
i think it is possible to hide the modules with the rights management.

for the workspaces i can set the groups and user modul rights to read/write , read and none.
for example if i set the email right for a group to none, the module will be disable/hide for this group.

It's perfect if we can do like that. Totally agree
