Thanks for looking into this, it will be a great feature.

I've been looking round the funambol site and come across this:

https://db-connector.forge.funambol.org/

It's described as 'Enable synchronisation for DB tables' and enables you to sync tables from client and server databases over jdbc. It was last compiled for v7 so it may need updating.

Hope you find it useful

Hi,

I've been using Horde Webmail to manage contacts and email. They've implemented a syncml option, I wish I knew more about php to provide more information. But, I do know they have an open source project much like Feng's.

Their approach doesn't require a Funambol server only a syncml client, I utilized the Funambol client on my G1 to sync my contacts. It was as easy as pointing my device at the sync URL: mail.domain.com/horde/rpc.php and providing the user and password for my authentication to the server.

Admittedly the code is still in a Beta state, however it may provide for some inspiration...

Agreed, no sponsorship is possible for us without defined deliverables and timelines.
I am a volunteer moderator.  Any statements, opinions or observations I contribute are solely mine and are not necessarily shared by the makers of Feng Office.

Agreed.

That's why there is more information here: http://forums.fengoffice.com/index.php?topic=2634.0 .

Once we reach a more interesting level of interest we can work on more precise details.

Best.

No news. Conditions were agreed, but I guess the work hasn't started.

I'm blown away by feng office. Great gui, workspaces and clever interlinking of items solves some very common collaboration challenges we face daily with our current systems (egropware+funambol and TikiWiki (of which TikiWiki definitely offers some innovative features like "Trackers", WebDav access to files etc. for your inspiration)

Current showstopper with feng office for us has been sync. Once that's in place we're making the transition.

Eagerly anticipated. Keep up the good work guys :)

Regards M.

I am also very interested in the SyncML support. I currently run Funambol on my home server and find that it's difficult to know what data is where after a few syncs with different clients - not all the clients show all the values and you can't easily see what's in the database. FengOffice will be very appealing if it is the central point for the syncing, rather than just another client, as it will allow us to work directly with that central data.

As implied by my agreement with the comment, "suspiciously affordable", I have had some thoughts about possible complications in the sync system and ideas for potentially-useful features. I'd like to share them with someone involved in the project - how/where can I do that?

Cabeza, we're simply to excited about this to demonstrate appropriate patience :).

Is this in your roadmap for the near future. Did you start working on it, or are we still in the pre-development-bounce-ideas-around phase?

Can you indicate a time schedule... 3 months, 6 months 24 months?

Thanks M.

We reached an agreement with a developer, but he hasn't started and is not answering my emails so I'm guessing that's not good news.

Whatever happens with him, we hope to have something working in 6 months.

But our hope is not enough. It is really up to customers who pay for this development.

1 month passed.. any news Cabeza .

"But our hope is not enough. It is really up to customers who pay for this development."

Hmm... well did you reach sufficient funding/interest to put this in to your development roadmap? It seems that so far quite a few people (including me) are ready to pitch in for a total of around 1000 $ ( http://forums.fengoffice.com/index.php?topic=2634.15 )

Thanks for your efforts and heads up to the feng team :)

M.
