fresh installation 1.4.2 - database

Because I was unable to upgrade to 1.5.3, and my installation was broken, I decided to try a fresh installation. The installation went perfectly, but when I replace the newly created database with my backup (both 1.4.2) I get an error.

An Error Report has been sent to the administrator.
So, what is the proper way to go about adding the data from my database backup?

So, I emptied out the database, deleted the config file that had been created and ran the install script again. No problems. I got to the final step to finish by creating an admin login and got this error:

Query failed with message 'Unknown column
'updated_by_id' in 'field list''

This is the final step of the installation process that
will let you create administrator account and provide
brief info about your company

i managed to get my installation to work by just deleting everything again and started over.
