Hi all,

I managed a good upgrade installation from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2.
That was going ok.
But upgrading to 1.5.0 was a real problem.

Now I'll explain, ho I did the upgrade:
-  backed up the whole directory with db
- unzipped 1.5.0 in separate folder
- copied all folders to current directory, except config and upload folder
- then I went do domain/public/upgrade
- I clicked on upgrade, the result is following:

    * Config file found and loaded.
    * File '/config/config.php' exists and is writable
    * Folder '/config' exists and is writable
    * Folder '/cache' exists and is writable
    * Folder '/tmp' exists and is writable
    * Folder '/upload' exists and is writable
    * Extension 'mysql' is loaded
    * Extension 'gd' is loaded
    * Extension 'simplexml' is loaded
    * Upgrade script has connected to the database.
    * Test query has been executed. Its safe to proceed with database migration.
    * Upgrade script has connected to the database.

    *
    * Failed to execute DB schema transformations. MySQL said: Table 'og_template_parameters' already exists
    * Error upgrading to version 1.5

So what the hack is goin on here?
:-)

If i delete the table, it sais: Table 'og_template_parameters' does not exists.

BTW:
Automatic upgrade did never work for me, not from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 and also not from 1.4.2 to 1.5.0.
It always sais "No update path available from 1.4.2. to 1.5.0"

So how did you guys manage a working upgrade from 1.4.2 to 1.5.0?

I am stuck - no way to get it work ...
:-((

Yeah, Iread other posts with upgrade problems, but noe worked for my specific need here ...

I am having this same problem and yes I have tried going straight to 1.5.3. That was a disaster.

@carcam: no, as adviced here I tried it version by version ...
@tamalita: thanks for your motivation ... ;-) ...

I'll try it with 1.5.3.

But generally I have to say, that upgrading opengoo is _really_ a desaster.
Just read the forum here ...  I, myself, never experienced any open source software being so hard to upgrade. -> e.g. try TYPO3 you just have to replace the source files, and thats it.
Anyway there ist space for improvement ... I shouldn't be so negative.
:-)

I'll keep you all updated on my upgrade experieces ... ::)

This is only true for some people. You don't see posts whenever all the other users successfully upgrade.  I myself have had smooth sailing.  I do hope that any glitches are eventually smoothed out by the dev team. Keep us posted, and thanks for posting details, it always helps.

I just wish I could understand what causes the glitches. In my case, the original files are not changed and I completely replace them on the server. I think something with the database goes wacky.

I have a second installation on my server that has no data at all; I have managed to upgrade it with absolutely no problems 1.4.2 --> 1.5.1, just have not had time to go further.

So again, I am thinking there must be some type of corruption in the database --- but at what point?
