External viewer support

A feature I would like to see is the ability to define an external viewer for document types. 

For example Zoho viewer for PDF files

This would be a good thing, since I have written my own interfaces for ZOHO, and a few other popular document services on the web to view different file types within my web apps.  It would be great to use ZOHO or Google docs for the missing features, at least until they are available....or for advanced functionality such as doc(x), xls(x), od*, etc files.
