Day Planning
« on: January 06, 2010, 07:19:40 am »
Hi all,

There are several ways in which FengOffice (still have to get used to the new name ...) is different (read: better) then most other Applications, but I the next feature might be another step to make FO a better app:

Everyday, I add tasks to my workspaces and everyday I work on some of them, but it is very hard to make the schedule for a day ... It is something else to have a tasklist and do the dayplanning ;-)

First off all I'd like to ask if there is any enthousiasm. Is there is any buzz around this, we can discuss how the layout might be, no?

Hi,

I was thinking of a kind of drag-and-drop kind of way to assemble yuor day. You assemble it out of the tasks you choose out of different workspaces. Further you can (drag&drop maybe) determine how long you will work on every task during that day and if you have appointments, they are added automagically.

This are some things I had in mind ;-)

How about a way to populate a "Hipster" from Feng Office!?

For Hipster, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hipster_PDA, or even better, how about populating a Pocket Mod?!  http://www.pocketmod.com

Drag items to build the day planner.... what a GREAT idea!

How could that be implemented.... an additional pane between the tab views and the workspaces, perhaps?
Yeah, so the user can navigate through workspaces and tabs, dragging tasks and docs into the day planner ....... hhm, I can see myself using that!!

But, wait, what do I do then? ... yeah, I can send the list to my phone/PDA.
Now, that would be (double) GREAT!

Just thinking loud...
