No, you weren't clear enough. I understood that the white screen came after login, after a successful upgrade, as stated in the first post of this thread to which you replied. If you problem was different than that of the first post and you wanted to be clear you should have started a new thread.

Ignacio,
it is exactly as you say: the upgrade goes as planned and is successful (the upgrade process itself), I login with my account and get a white screen (see attachments).
I tried and described three different alternatives to try to get around this blocking issue, all three alternatives are described step by step and accompanied by log files. Unfortunately none of these alternatives succeeds in making the upgrade from 1.5.3 to 1.6.1.
I'll stick with version 1.5.3 since there is no way for me to upgrade.

Did anyone see into this? Do you consider this issue closed?
F.Y.I the upgrade problem from 1.5.3 to 1.6.2 and up described by me and others is a serious legacy problem.

I'm not a developer, the only thing I can do to contribute to a healthy open source enviroment is to make serious bugs known to the developers in the comunity, thats what I did. I cannot do anything more.

I did see this too.

But as I remeber in the upgrade instructions there is the hint to reload the page in the browser without cache, to get the new javascript-files loaded by the browser.

In firefox I think this is done by holding SHIFT and load the page.
