« on: October 13, 2010, 09:09:38 am »
Hello guys,

I just moved a feng office installation which was fully functionable and everything was ok, all files were moved but .doc files or .jpg or png have been corrupted. Txt files are ok. Do you know any solution? Do i have to move them manuallly?

Thanks a lot for any help

This is just a guess, but did you use FTP when moving the files to the new server? If you did, the FTP client may have been set to a Text or ASCII transfer mode instead of a Binary mode. The Text transfer mode will alter the file so that it will match the text formatting of the Operating System it is being transferred to (like how Windows and Linux have different ways of making new lines in a text file with the ASCII codes CR and LF). That would explain why only text files are functional and not any other file type. I use a free program called Filezilla http://filezilla-project.org/ as my FTP client which can automatically choose the correct transfer mode for each file.
